Streaming Funerals because of Covid. Now is standard practise

You can’t hug participants but you can find comfort in family through Live Streaming of a funeral service.

This practise which started to try and solve the problem of being in isolation because of Covid has now become a popular add-on to many funerals.

They help families face grief together, even while miles apart

Losing a close family member or friend is hard enough but not being able to say goodbye can be even harder. Live Streaming allows for more people to participate and be connected.

Funeral Directors in Christchurch are finding it is very common for New Zealand families to be spread across the globe these days. Mum and Dad and the Grandparents are still in New Zealand but their children are in London, Argentina, Australia and South Africa. Uncles, Aunts, Cousins can be spread across the world as well.

There is often an possible obligation to “be there” for members of a close family but sometimes health, age, work commitments and rising travel costs is making it even harder to attend when family members pass.

In the past, everyone understood that it is unreasonable for distant relatives to be expected to attend however this conundrum is addressed with Live Streaming.

It isn’t exactly the same as being there in person, but it is definitely comforting to be able to be involved from a distance.

For distant friends and family, often the funeral service is where you learn more about the person than when they were alive.

Even those looking for a cheap funeral service in Christchurch will find Live Streaming in some manner is probably still available.
